Description
Coming from Frankfurt on the A5. take exit 27: Darmstadt-Eberstadt.
Turn right onto B426 towards Höchst Odw./Ober-Ramstadt.
Stay on this road for approx. 10 km until you get to traffic lights (the second lot after the tunnel) where you turn right towards Modautal/Lindenfels (L3099).
Pass “Schlossmühle” (that’s where Just Jörg turns grain into flour for the Hash!) and pass through Nieder-Modau, Ober-Modau and Ernsthofen.
After you leave Ernsthofen take the first turn left to Herchenrode (about 300m after the village exit sign).
Go (slowly! watch out for horses!) through Herchenrode. Go straight in the 30km-zone and follow the HHH-signs to the parking lot, marked "Naturparkplatz" around the bend and to the left
NB: The little hamlet is called Herchenrode, that’s pronounced HASHEN-ROADA.
And you were wondering why we are going there!
