Description

Get off A66 at Exit 6 (Wiesbaden-Erbenheim) and follow signs for Mainz-Kastel. Follow B455, which merges with B40 later on. Follow signs for Mainz. When you have crossed Theodor-Heuss-Bridge and come down from the ramp, take a left to turn onto Rheinstraße and keep on B40. Follow the road. When you see the DB Schenker building, turn right onto Holzhofstraße. Follow the road up until you see a tegut. Turn left here and follow the road uphill. After the s-curve, take a right onto Eisgrubweg and drive up, and turn left at the next possibility to get onto the road leading to the Zitadelle.
 
From Frankfurt or Darmstadt, via A60.
Get off A60 at Exit 9 and follow signs to Mainz-Innenstadt. Follow the B9. When you see the ibis Hotel, turn left onto Holzhofstraße. Follow the road up until you see a tegut. Turn left here and follow the road uphill. After the s-curve, take a right onto Eisgrubweg and drive up, and turn left at the next possibility to get onto the road leading to the Zitadelle.
 
Public transport.

Take S8 or a RE to Mainz Römisches Theater. When you have arrived, get on the side of the tracks where the ruins of the roman amphitheater are. To the left should be a set of stairs. Ascend. When you have reached the top, turn right onto Zitadellenweg leading up to the Zitadelle. Enter through the main gate and keep going straight towards the Zitadellencafé.
